Hello and thank you for taking the time to visit my site. I am an internationally self published cartoonist, painter, writer and teaching artist(and sometimes singer) from Annapolis Maryland. I work in many mediums of art but my passion is in illustration and poetry, self publishing over a dozen books of my enterTOONing illustrations available on Amazon, Barnes & Noble etc., in addition to greeting cards and other various merchandise available in various outlets. I spend countless hours lost in my "toon" world at home and when I'm not tooning I'm teaching painting, drawing and/or crafting classes for the local community college, area senior centers and more. My hope is to use my creative energy to inspire, enlighten and entertain. I began drawing at a very young age, I was an only child so drawing became my best friend. I was inspired by Hanna-Barbera cartoons, but also learned from people and places around me, I can remember copying technique as young as 7 years old from a girl sitting next to me in grade school, I loved how she drew hair. I later became inspired by fashion illustration, studying drawings by such designers as Bob Mackie. I would sit and draw Cher in all kinds of wild clothes(I'm still doing that today). Drawing has always been a part of my life but not until I was much older did I begin to share it publicly and commercially. I began by designing greeting card collections, from humor to inspirational and from breast cancer awareness to LGBT inclusion and MORE! I progressed into celebrity caricatures and found it incredibly fun and people seemed to enjoy it. Cher, Joan Rivers, Barbra, Dolly and hundreds more. I saw so many other artists do caricatures as well so I wanted to be different so I added poetry and commentary bubbles to the drawings.....I'm not the greatest artist and not the greatest writer but I believe the combination creates something very special...toon-tributes. I've been blessed to have many celebrities see my work and their kindness and gratitude is always overwhelming. Joan Rivers LOVED the greeting cards I designed for her and took them onstage during a performance in NYC, Barbara Eden posed graciously with a Jeannie-toon and my shining moment was when a Cher-toon of mine made it's way to the icon's birthday cake! I am grateful every day for my talent and the opportunities to share it and inspirit others. We all have a gift, the objective is to discover your gift and utilize it to better yourself and light up the world <3
Interest in my work has grown over the years so I had to come up with more inventive ways to share it, I couldn't find a publisher that would look at my work without an agent and I couldn't find an agent that was interested if I hadn't been published SO I decided to do it myself and have self published various books and coloring books on a wide variety of subjects including celebrity tributes, cancer support and other whimsical works. ALL of my books are available internationally and can be purchased thru Amazon.com, Barnes & Noble online, etc. and signed copies can be ordered directly thru me via ETSY, phone or email.
Portions of royalties from various books are donated to reputable charitable organizations.
My art is available on tee shirts, mugs, totes and much more on various sites including etsy, cafepress, redbubble, zazzle, greetingcarduniverse and threadless.....please visit the "SHOP" or "SHOP BOOKS" pages of this site for a complete listing of links. Custom work can be created via phone or email contact.
